Harvested from the pristine New Zealand marine environment, this totally natural ingredient utilises the goodness of the whole mussel.
Manufacture of our Greenshell Mussel Oil Extract is tightly controlled throughout the supply chain. We start by sourcing sustainable, non GMO, Greenshell mussels of the highest export quality from approved suppliers whose marine farms and primary processing facilities meet strict government licensing criteria.
PernaTecâ„¢ is then manufactured in New Zealand at Waitaki Biosciences purpose built, fully export licensed processing facility. It is here that the stabilisation of PernaTecâ„¢ is achieved through a combination of low temperature freeze drying and specialised pre-processing application of a highly effective proprietary anti-oxidant blend. Unlike other stabilisation techniques, which tend to take place later in the production process, this approach protects sensitive Omega 3 oils throughout manufacture and storage of PernaTecâ„¢ powder, ensuring maximum e cacy is maintained in the finished product.

The unique profile of marine Omega 3 fatty acids in our Greenshellâ„¢ Mussel Oil Extract are key to the anti-inflammatory activity of this natural product, via a mechanism of inhibition of eicosanoid biosynthesis.
Research over the past twenty years has also identified a series of novel Omega 3 fatty acids in Greenshellâ„¢ Mussel oil with significant anti-inflammatory activity.
Pro-inflammatory compounds in the body known as eicosanoids play a key role in the inflammatory process, however the Omega 3 fatty acids found naturally in Greenshellâ„¢ mussels have been found to inhibit these inflammatory molecules. The omega 3 fatty acids have been shown to interfere with this process, resulting in down regulation of pro-inflammatory eicosanoid production and a powerful overall anti-inflammatory effect.
